Who knew those busy bees know the value of restful rest? In human organizations, we can seem to find the balance of work/rest or even at acknowledging the power of rest towards overall productivity. People persist in practicing prideful productivity nearly 24/7, expecting peak performance to prevail. Maybe those fuzzy buzzies are on to something, I think their performance and pivotal place in our ecosystem suggest they know a thing or two about being!

Nature runs on cycles- ebbs and flows, pushes and pulls, and highs and lows; bees are a brilliant example of that. The work season is full of action and diligent effort to generate food for the hive. A mere side effect of their work is pollination. Much of the global food crop depends on bee-assisted pollination. Our lives depend on bees being busy in the summer.
Bees show us the positive impact of rest on the productivity bees have in the summer. There is a season for work and a season for rest.
When you’re being busy- bee your busiest.
When you’re being restful- bee your rest-iest.
Each season and the transitions between are important and valid parts of the cycle.
